Loft Insulation Grants
Loft Insulation Grants are available to completely cover the cost of having Loft Insulation professionally installed. If you are in receipt of a qualifying benefit, you should be entitled to a 100% FREE grant that does not need to be paid back.
Even if you don’t qualify for a 100% grant, we can still put you in touch with an approved local installer who can carry out a free survey and provide you with a quote. Loft Insulation normally costs around £300 to £500.
The grants are part of the Government’s Green Deal and Energy Companies Obligation (ECO). The main Energy Suppliers such as British Gas, NPower, E-ON, etc. are obliged by the Government to pay for Insulation in domestic properties.
As energy bills continue to rise, Loft Insulation remains a cost-effective way to make savings of up to £150 per year on your heating bills by preventing up to 25% of your home’s heat from escaping through the roof.
To claim a Loft Insulation Grant you must own or privately rent your property and it must be occupied at the time of survey. Social housing tenants should contact their Council or Housing Association because they organise their own schemes. If you own 50% or more of a Housing Association property, you can apply for a grant.
Note that there must be 100mm or less of insulation already installed to claim a grant. If there is more than 100mm, we can arrange a free, no-obligation survey and quote to have the insulation topped up.
Note that the insulation must cover 60% or more of the property. Extensions do not normally qualify for grant funding for this reason but we can arrange a free, no-obligation survey and quote.
